PRE-PLANNING
Today, more and more people are planning their own funerals and aft
er someone dies there are may details that need to be taken care of.  No one wants to have to make those decisions, but someone will end up with the responsibility of making them.  Many are making pre-arranged funerals so that everything is taken care of and your next of kin will be aware of what your intentions are, such as the type and final resting place you prefer.  The days after someone's passing should be reserved for grieving and remembering.  Planning your own funeral is one of the most loving things an individual can do for the rest of your family and friends.

PRE-PAYING
In addition those who prepay for their funeral not only make it easier on the next of kin, but also their funeral will be paid in full at todays price with no extra charges to the family after death.  Your funds will be invested in either a trust fund or insurance and will be generating interest to offset the future cost of your funeral.  Depending on how long you live and the economy, money can be returned to the family or estate and again you the next of kin will never be asked of to pay anymore.

CREMATION
Cremation is becoming more popular in the recent years.  Michigan cremation has increased, however there are many options when deciding on cremation.  Immediate cremation without viewing is the minimal option.  A second option is where visitation can be held with a viewing of the deceased and then the cremation.  In Michigan cremation has to be through a licensed funeral home, unlike most states.  Michigan funeral homes cannot own a cremation facility.  After the cremation is completed various items can be purchased for keepsakes of the deceased, including small keepsake urns, jewelry, candles and customized urns with engravings.  A complete selection is available in our selection room and catalogues upon request. There is no cremation society fees when arranging for a cremation service at the Marshall Funeral Home.
